У створенні народного меморіалу загиблим захисникам та визволителям Києва протягом 1993-2008 років брали участь: Братусь Володимир, Антонюк Дмитро, Кривопішин Олексій, Жук Павло, Шереметьєв Олексій, Белохвостов Сергій, Кравченко Олексій, Кравченко Наталія, Садовой Сергій. Голосіївська районна в м. Києві рада та держадміністрація. ТОВ «САВВатс» Мережа “PROF1GROUP” КП УЗН Голосіївського району Ритуальна служба СКП «Спецкомбінат ПКПО» Каплиця та меморіал збудовані за ідеєю та по проєкту Кравченко Олександра та освячені в 1993 році.

The memorial in honor of Soviet soldiers who died defending Kyiv in 1941–1943 was created in 1993 at the initiative of a local resident, Oleksandr Kravchenko, who had previously been searching for dead soldiers. The memorial includes a chapel, a sculpture in the form of a pyramid of helmets, memorial plaques and crosses. Hundreds of Kyiv defenders are buried there, unfortunately, nothing is known about most of them. For twenty years, the memorial did not have state status and existed through the efforts of ordinary citizens, becoming a real people's memorial.
