At the beginning of 1830, he received leave to see his mother and for treatment in the Mykytivka estate (Okhtyr County, Kharkiv Province), but he was prohibited from entering other provinces and had to be accompanied by a benevolent officer. In February 1830, Petro Konovnitsyn came to Mykytovka. But they could not cure the disease. In August of the same year, 1830, Peter died in severe agony in his estate.
