In 1918 - 20, a brutal class struggle took place in Khutor-Mykhailivskyi (from 1962 - the town of Druzhba), as a result of which the power in the village changed several times. Dozens of Red Army soldiers, partisans, and local activists died in these battles.
In 1967, the remains of the Civil War participants were reburied in one mass grave. In the same year, a reinforced concrete obelisk crowned with a five-pointed star with an inscription on the front side was installed on the grave.
