The monument to the liberators of Myrhorod was erected in 1968, on the 25th anniversary of the liberation of the city from German occupation.
In September 1943, the Chief of Staff of the 373rd Infantry Division, Colonel N. Bondarenko, developed the Myrhorod Offensive. The 93rd and 373rd Infantry Divisions took part in the liberation of the city. On the night of September 17-18, 1943, the Nazis, retreating, destroyed the premises of a power plant, a mill, three schools, a library, a hotel, a silicate plant, a bridge over the Khorol River, and private houses. Therefore, in honor of the liberation of the city from the invaders, the city authorities decided to erect a monument to the liberators of Myrhorod. It is a tall white obelisk. A bas-relief of a soldier is engraved on the bottom of the slab on the left, and on the right is the inscription: "To the liberators of Myrhorod, the glorious soldiers of the 93rd and 373rd Myrhorod Rifle Red Banner Divisions."
The monument of history.
