The heretic Danylo Romanovych was born in 1916 in the village of Pavlivka, Mashiv district, in the family of a poor peasant. From July 1941, he took part in the battles against the Nazi invaders. He fought on the South-Western Front. In October 1941, he was killed in the battle for Lozova station. He was buried in Lozova, Kharkiv region.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 5 November 1942, the secretary of the Komsomol organisation of the 967th Artillery Regiment of the Three Hundred and Ninety-third Infantry Division, junior political officer D. R. Yeretyk was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for courage and bravery in battles against the Nazi invaders.
