The monument of monumental art. Introduced by the Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine dated 25.02.2020 No. 1062 (2570-Pl) The monument to Taras Shevchenko in Myrhorod was inaugurated in 1971, on the 110th anniversary of the death of the writer and artist. Interestingly, the Myrhorod monument is an exact copy of the Shevchenko monument in Moscow, which was erected there in 1964. In Myrhorod, Taras Shevchenko worked on his poem "The Great Cellar" and lived in the house of the Cossack Korobka and with the Lukianovych family in Maryinske.
