From March 27 to May 16 and from August 2 to October 26, 1942 in the village of The headquarters of S. Kovpak's partisan unit was located in Stara Huta. In this large village, which the people later nicknamed the partisan capital, there were enough yards and spacious houses to accommodate all subdivisions, economic and sanitary units. The village was reliably fortified. Reconnaissance and subversive groups went on daily missions from Stara Huta. And the partisans freed from military service studied trophy weapons, discussed past combat operations in classes, and rested. After leaving the compound in the raid on the Sumy region. (May 16 - August 2, 1942) the village was burned by Nazi punishers. In 1971, a reinforced concrete slab with an inscription on its front side was installed.
