The village was occupied by the Nazis on November 15, 1941. On August 15, 1942, the occupiers burned down the village of Styagaylivka for helping the partisans of S. Kovpak's association. 74 residents were shot. In 1980, a reinforced concrete slab with a memorial plaque was installed on its front side.
