The monument to Taras Shevchenko in Poltava was built by the outstanding Ukrainian sculptor Ivan Kavaleridze in the style of constructivism with elements of cubism. The pedestal is presented as an asymmetric accumulation of planes and volumes, from which the figure of the poet appears. Strict laconism, generalized forms of the monument create the image of a fighter for the will and social justice of the Ukrainian people.
