Here, on June 29, 1942, for helping the partisans, the Nazis burned down the village and shot 69 civilians. In the first half of May 1942, Znob-Novgorodskoe became one of the centers of the partisan struggle. The Znob-Novgorod partisan unit named after Shchorsa, commander M. Taratuta, and the partisan unit of O. Saburov. An underground group led by Ya. Doroshenko operated in the village. In June 1942, partisans fought fierce battles in the area of the village. When the partisans retreated deep into the Bryansk forests, the fascists burned the village.
On May 9, 1981, at the entrance to the village, a concrete slab was installed, on which there is a board with an inscription.
