In October 1941, a partisan unit was formed on the border of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions by regimental commissar O. Saburov. In March 1942, a partisan unit was formed under the command of O. Saburov. Until October 1942, the unit conducted combat operations in the northern regions of Sumy and southern Bryansk regions. At that time, the headquarters of O. Saburov's partisan unit was located in the village of Novovasilivka From here, on October 25, 1942, the unit went on a raid to Right Bank Ukraine. In 1967, a concrete slab with a dedicatory inscription was installed in the village. In the upper part of the stele - an image of a hammer and sickle, two banners. Below the text is a relief image of two laurel branches.
