Monument of monumental art.
Kirponos Mykhailo (December 30, 1891 [January 12, 1892], Vertiivka, Nizhynsky District, Chernihiv Province, Russian Empire - September 20, 1941, Iskivtsi, Lokhvytsky District, Poltava Region, Ukrainian SSR, USSR) was a Bolshevik activist, Soviet military leader of Ukrainian origin. Participant in the war against the Ukrainian People's Republic, one of the organizers of the Bolshevik subversion squads in the Chernihiv region. Division commander during the Soviet war against Finland in 1939-1940. Colonel-General from February 22, 1941, commander of the South-Western Front of the USSR in the Second World War from June to September 1941.
