In 1653, diplomatic relations between the Zaporizhzhya Army and the Russian state intensified significantly. Ambassadors V. Buturlin and I. Alferyev were sent to the Pereyaslav Rada to announce the act of acceptance of the supremacy of the Russian Tsar by the Zaporizhzhya Army. In the 17th century with. Karabutov was located on the border between Russia and Ukraine and was the first Ukrainian town on the way of the ambassadors. On December 22, 1653, 10 miles from the town of ambassadors, the son of Colonel I. Fedorenko met with a hundred Cossacks on horses and with a flag.
