Working at the local railway depot, on January 27, 1943, they sent a serviceable German steam locomotive into an uninduced turning circle, and the locomotive fell into a pit. As a result, twelve repaired steam locomotives did not go on the tracks, and ten others that required repairs were left in front of a broken turntable.
