The memorial sign of the beginning of the heroic defense of Kyiv was erected in 1975 on the western section of the first line of defense of the Kyiv fortified district - the 19th km of the Brest Highway. The memorial sign commemorating the beginning of the heroic defense of Kyiv was erected in 1975 on the western section of the first line of defense of the Kyiv fortified district, the 19th km of the Beresteyske Highway.
One of the sides states that the sign was erected during the celebration of the 1500th anniversary of Kyiv by Komsomol members and youth of the Leningrad district together with the council of fellow soldiers of the NKVD troops.
