The monument is located in the historic Pechersk district of Kyiv, in a park on Ivan Franko Square next to the building of the National Academic Drama Theater, which also bears the name of Kamenyar.The monument to Franko in Kyiv was unveiled on August 28, 1956, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth. The monument to Ivan Franko is a bronze half-figure of the writer, which is mounted on a red granite pedestal.
