Askold's Grave is one of the most famous historical sites and a tract in Kyiv, which once housed a prestigious necropolis that was destroyed during the Soviet era. Nowadays it is a park, a monument of landscape art. Independence turned public opinion to a gradual rethinking of the heritage of the past and its restoration, and the Revolution of Dignity and the invasion of 2022 actualized the need to create a national Pantheon of Heroes. Ideas have been expressed to set it up on Askold's grave. In particular, a petition in March 2023 received 25 thousand votes. Currently, there are 4 burials on Askold's grave from the time of independent Ukraine: O. Klitynskyi, D. Kotsiubailo, M. Paslavskyi, and A. Pilshchykov.
