The Memorial of Eternal Glory is a memorial to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, located in the Park of Eternal Glory in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. It consists of an obelisk and the Alley of the Fallen Heroes, where 34 graves of soldiers are located, most of whom died during the Second World War (Anatolii Babin, Andrii Vitruk, Mykola Chernyshov died in 1946).The monument is made in the form of a 27-meter granite obelisk. At its foot burns the Eternal Flame, surrounded by a bronze wreath of oak leaves. In the post-Soviet era, the flame is lit only on Victory Day and other holidays associated with the memory of those who died during the war. The flame for the Memorial's unveiling ceremony was brought from the Battle of Stalingrad's Mamayev Kurgan field. The Alley of Fallen Heroes leads to the obelisk. The remains of soldiers were brought to the main military necropolis of Ukraine from Askold's Grave, the Botanical Garden, and the streets and parks of the capital. These are eleven generals, twenty-one officers and two petty officers.
