In the city of Khmelnytskyi there is a monument to the outstanding Ukrainian Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi. It was established in honor of the great commander, excellent strategist and tactician who led the national uprising of the Ukrainian people against Polish oppression. The monument to Bohdan Khmelnytskyi was opened on September 28, 1993 as part of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city. According to the project of the sculptor Valentin Borysenko and the architect Mykhailo Kopyla, the monument to the hetman was placed at the intersection of Kamenetska and Gagarin streets. Bohdan Khmelnytskyi is depicted astride a horse, in his left hand he holds the reins, and in his right hand he raises a club above his head, a symbol of power. The bronze monument to the leader is placed on a trapezoidal pedestal.
