"Cossack Graves" is a complex of monuments in the village of Plyasheva, Duben district, Rivne region, a place of commemoration of thousands of Cossacks and peasants who participated in the Battle of Berestets in 1651 during the National Liberation War led by Bohdan Khmelnytskyi.Cossacks who died on the battlefield were buried at this place, and for some time only two stone crosses stood here. You could still see the inscription "1651" on them - the year of the dramatic battle near Berestechko. In 1991, the monument to the soldiers of the Battle of Berestets was solemnly opened. Its author was the sculptor Anatoly Kush. At the same time, the "Cossack graves" were declared a "Field of the Battle of Berestets" reserve, and services were also restored in St. George's Cathedral, which was erected at the beginning of the last century on the field of the Battle of Berestets on Zhuravlykha Island as a temple-monument - St. George's Church with a Cossack tomb. Today it is the cathedral of the St. George Men's Monastery.
