The monument to Poltava Colonel Ivan Iskra and Judge General Vasyl Kochubey, leaders of the opposition to Hetman Ivan Mazepa, was erected by the tsarist authorities in Kyiv in 1914 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava. It was located on the modern Arsenal Square. It was dismantled by the Ukrainian authorities in 1918. The only thing left of the original monument is the pedestal, which was used by the Bolsheviks in 1923 to build a monument to the Arsenal workers.
