The composition is of a seated figure and is intended to be viewed frontally from a distance. Soft lines dominate the modelling. The poet leans with his right hand on the back of the chair and holds a closed notebook with his left hand, the seams of his unbuttoned coat blend in with the pedestal, while his coat falls softly. The smooth line of his silhouette concentrates on his slightly bent head and the hand with which he leans on the chair. The sculptor portrayed the poet in a state of deep muse, his face focused on something distant. His plasticity conveys the look of his portrait, opened the inner sense of his imagery, his willpower. A warm shade of bronze on the white background of the wall makes it especially distinctive.
