More than 3,000 Jews who died during the Second World War during the German occupation are buried in a common grave. From the spring of 1942, bodies of Jews who died of hunger, hard work in the ghetto and bodies of Jews who were killed on the spot at freshly dug graves were brought to the place, not far from the old Jewish cemetery. Most of the Jews were residents of Rava-Ruska, but those Jews who escaped from the trains that were taking them to the death camp in Belzec (now the territory of Poland) were also brought here and shot. A wall of memory was built from the slabs that were preserved in the old cemetery.
