The mass grave and memorial complex of soldiers of the UNR army is a place of commemoration of 359 captured soldiers of the marching group of the UNR Army who refused to join the Red Army and were shot on November 21, 1921 near the village of Bazar, Zhytomyr region. In the fall of 1921, the last attempt of the UNR army to liberate Ukraine from the Bolsheviks took place. The II Winter Campaign is part of a series of events related to the national liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people in 1917-1921 - the Ukrainian Revolution. 359 prisoners were shot on the territory of Narodytsky district, 250 soldiers died in the battle. Since 1921, their graves were in a neglected state. On August 26, 2000, a memorial complex was opened at the burial place for the participants of the II Winter Campaign. On October 11, 2002, the remains of 46 soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, who died in battle on November 17, 1921, were solemnly reburied.
