Semen Kozak - Guards Major General of the Soviet Army, commander of the 73rd Guards Rifle Division of the 2nd Ukrainian Front, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, People's Hero of Yugoslavia. He was born in the village of Iskorost (now the city of Korosten, Zhytomyr region). The Kozak monument is the last of the realized projects of the architect K. Melnikov and the only work of the artist outside of Russia. Elements were dismantled: stars, order, board with the image of the decree. The dismantled elements were handed over to the Korosten Local History Museum.
