The monument, erected on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of Shevchenko's reburial, is made in the form of a verst pillar. Volunteers collected UAH 200,000 for the construction of a monument sign to Taras Shevchenko. Dozens of Gluhiv residents responded to the call to raise funds, the amount of donations ranged from UAH 50 to UAH 5,000. The sign was installed in the place where the monument to Lenin stood before decommunization.
