The monument to the crew of the Tarashchanets armored train stands in the center of a small park. In August 1919, the armored train defended the Darnytsia railway junction from the Denikins for six days. On the night of August 30, the White Guards blocked the armored train and offered the crew to surrender. Having rejected this offer, the soldiers blew up the armored train and were killed themselves.
In Darnytsia district, it was decided to dismantle the monument to the crew of the armored train "Tarashchanets"
This decision was made by the Kyiv City Council.
The purpose of these measures is to minimize the cultural impact of the pro-Russian narrative on the residents of the capital. On December 16, 2023, communal services dismantled the monument to the crew of the Soviet armored train Tarashchanets.
