Danylo Romanovych is depicted on a horse with his right hand drawn back with a sword. The monument can be seen from all sides. The place for the monument was not chosen by chance. Historians believe that this Halych square and the surrounding quarters appeared precisely on the initiative of Prince Danylo, for foreign, primarily German, merchants organized into a community under "Magdeburg law". Sculptors tried to show in this image the victorious prince, who in 1238, having overcome the boyar opposition, entered Halych and united the Galician and Volyn lands once again.
