The monument stood next to the Ukrainian-Slovak border. The memorial was dismantled. It was a 19-ton bronze sculpture of a soldier. The soldier held a raised flag in one hand and an assault rifle in the other. During the fall, the monument fell to pieces. The soldier's head and part of his leg fell off. A monument in honor of the soldiers of the Zakarpattia separate mountain assault 128th Brigade is to be erected in its place.
