Bogdan Khmelnitsky died on the morning of July 27 (August 6 in a new style) in 1657 in Chigirin and on August 25 was buried in Subotiv, in the Elias church, which the hetman built as a family tomb. It was in this church that his son Timosh was buried on December 27 or 30, 1653. This is reported by numerous surviving documents and chronicles.
