Indyk Semyon Leontiyovych [12.08.1909, p. Grun (now Lebedynsky District, Katerynivska Rural Council) - 31.01.1980, Cherkasy] - Hero of the Soviet Union (27.06.1945). Commander of the 107th Division of the Fighter Aviation Regiment (11th Main Fighter Aviation Division, 2nd Fighter Aviation Corps, 2nd Air Army, 1st Ukrainian Front) Guards Lieutenant Colonel S. Indyk skillfully managed the combat operations of the regiment until May 1945 made 93 sorties, shot down 8 enemy planes in 21 air battles. After the war, he continued his service in the Air Force. In 1967, a reinforced concrete bust was installed on a brick plastered pedestal.
