On February 13, 1943, a battle took place at this place with German-Nazi invaders of the "Red" partisan units and named after of the Kotovsky compound of M. Naumov, who were conducting a raid on the territory of the Lebedyn district. In the village On February 12, 1943, the combined detachment was located in Velikiy Vystropop. On February 13, 1943, intelligence established that in the village There are about 5,000 Soviet prisoners of war in Voorzhba. The operation for their liberation was managed by the union commissar I. Anisimenko. He was instructed to unite the cavalry reconnaissance of all units and attack the village during the day. As a result of the operation, about 2,000 prisoners of war were freed, 70 Nazis were killed, and 2 machine guns and rifles were captured. In 1971, a brick-cemented stele was installed at the site of the battle, on the front part of which there is a cast-iron board with a memorial inscription.
