The monument to Prince Volodymyr, the Baptist of Rus, is located in a park on Volodymyrska Hill. The prince holds a cross in his right hand and a princely hat in his left. It is made in the Neo-Byzantine style. The shape of the pedestal resembles a chapel. The high relief on the pedestal of the monument to Volodymyr depicts a scene of baptism of Kyiv residents. The design of the pedestal is complemented by images of stars and crosses - symbols of baptism by fire and sword, the archangel Michael, who is the patron saint of Kyiv and is depicted on the city's coat of arms, weapons, a torch as a symbol of education, and symbols of fertility. The huge cross held by Volodymyr was equipped with gas lamps so that the figure could be seen at night. Later, the gas horns were replaced with electric lamps. This is one of the few monuments that managed to survive the Soviet era.
