64 soldiers who died on August 8, 1943 in the battles for the liberation of the villages of Yasenok and Gaponivka from the German-Nazi invaders and died of wounds are buried here. The names of all the dead are known. The village of Yasenok was liberated from the German-Nazi invaders on August 8, 1943. In 1959, the remains of the dead from various places were transferred to a mass grave, on which a reinforced concrete sculptural group of a soldier and a girl was installed in the same year. On the front on the side of the brick pedestal there is a plaque with an inscription and the names of the dead. In 1967, on both sides of the mass grave, two boards with the inscription and by the surnames of 101 residents of the villages of Yasenok and Gaponivka who died on the fronts of the Second World War war
