The memorial sign was erected on the site of the house where the writer lived in 1893-1906.
The farm "Zelenyi Hai" was located above the river Psel. The history of Zelenyi Hai is as follows. Lesya Ukrainka's mother Olena Pchilka inherited from her mother Yelyzaveta a manor in the town of Hadiach, where the entire Drahomanov family lived. At the same time, Olena Pchilka dreamed of living even closer to nature. She bought nine tenths of land with a forest - the Holubivshchyna tract - and built a house in 1898, calling it "Zelenyi Hai Farm".
