169 Soviet soldiers who died during defensive battles for the village in late September and early October 1941 were buried, and soldiers who died during the liberation of the village from German-Nazi invaders on February 25, 1943, and died of wounds in the 306th separate medsanbat between October 27 and October 10, 1943. The names of 33 victims are known. In 1963, the remains of fallen soldiers from different places were transferred to a mass grave, on which in the same year a concrete sculpture of a soldier was installed on a brick plastered pedestal and a cast-iron tombstone with an inscription was placed. In 1976, 36 cast-iron slabs with the names of 288 soldiers, natives of the villages of Kurgan, Kulyki, Lozovo, Hrushevo, Plitnevo, who died during the Second World War, were installed on three sides of the warrior sculpture on three concrete bases.
