Installed during the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 - 93) - an outstanding
a Russian composer whose musical legacy is one of the pinnacles of world art. In the summer months of 1871 - 79, P. Tchaikovsky rested in Nysy. Here he worked on an opera
"Koval Vakula" ("Shoes"), the second and third symphonies.
The monument is a bust of the composer on a rectangular pedestal. The composer is depicted without a headdress, in a frock coat with a closed collar of the English type, in the cut of which a small shirt collar and tie are visible. The chest is interpreted in a general way, the side sections are presented at an acute angle, which removes its squatness and gives it lightness. Plastic surgery of the head, face, and hair reveals the sculptor's desire to
creating a realistic image. The bust stands on a four-sided brick plastered pedestal with a pyramidal upper section, the ribs are accented in relief. The surrounding space and forms of the ancient architecture of the Kondratyevs' house (now the House-Museum of P. Tchaikovsky) give the image of poetry.
