64 residents of the village of Kocherhy, shot and tortured by the Nazi invaders during the period of temporary occupation of the village in 1941-43, are buried. During the Second World War, residents of the village of Kochergi helped S. Kovpak's partisan unit: they collected tools, created shelters, prepared food products. Surnames of the buried are unknown. The village was liberated on September 1, 1943. In 1973, four reinforced concrete steles with memorial inscriptions and the names of 149 compatriot soldiers who died during the war were erected on both sides of the mass grave and on the back side.
