For Dovzhenko, the Jareskys once became a creative studio. The films Zvenyhora, The Land, Ivan, and Shchors are forever related to the Jareskys. After travelling around Myrhorod, Velykyi Bahachan, and all the villages of Shyshaky district, Oleksandr Petrovych chose Yareski for filming. Later he wrote that there is no better village anywhere in the world, that it is dear to him because some of his favourite works were filmed there, because his favourite artists live there. Dovzhenko called Yareska the capital of Ukrainian cinema. All the local residents took part in the filming of his films. In Zvenyhor, as well as in Zemlya, Shchors and partly Ivan, he used extras from Yareska villagers. The famous episode of The Earth, with a girl against the backdrop of blooming sunflowers, is known all over the world. A young resident of Yareskiv, Mariia Matsiutsia, starred in it.
