On the anniversary of the shelling of servicemen of the 9th battery of the 27th jet artillery regiment "Smerch" in Sumy, a monument to the gunners who tragically died in the ATO zone was opened.
The monument is located on the street. G. Kondratiev opposite the central checkpoint of the military town.
On the plaque are the names of 23 soldiers of the 27th Sumy rocket artillery regiment (now the 27th rocket artillery brigade), who died heroically during the anti-terrorist operation, defending the freedom and territorial integrity of the Ukrainian state. 17 of those whose names are carved on the slab died a year ago when, on September 3, the base camp of Sector A, which was located near the village of Peremoga in Luhansk Oblast, was fired upon from the territory of the Russian Federation from the Smerch multiple-launch rocket system.
