During the German occupation of 14.09.1941-19.09.1943, 8 people were deported to Germany, and most of the village was burned. In 1956, a tombstone was erected in Kovalia on the common grave of the Red Army soldiers who died in 1943 during the capture of the village, and a monument to the soldiers from the village who died (166 people) on the fronts of the German-Soviet war. The historical monument is listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine under the category of local significance (protection no. 2991-Pl). Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine of 25.02.2020 No. 1062.
