Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (14 (26) September 1849, Ryazan - 27 February 1936, Leningrad) was a Russian physiologist, creator of the science of higher nervous activity and ideas about the processes of digestive regulation; founder of the largest Russian physiological school; winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1904 for his work on the physiology of digestion. Throughout his life, Pavlov called the October Revolution of 1917 a "Bolshevik experiment." After his death in 1936, Pavlov was turned into an idol of Soviet science. The monument of monumental art
