Established in honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of T. Shevchenko.
The sculptor always tried to achieve such a level of expressiveness of his works that they were perceived not only in a portrait way, but also philosophically, in general. He worked constantly on the image of T. Shevchenko, it was one of his main topics. At first glance, the monument in Nedrigailiv seems to almost repeat the work of 1959 (monument in the village of Shevchenko, Konotop district), but it has significant differences. The concrete sculpture of the poet is installed on a brick plastered pedestal. Near the foot is a board made of labradorite with an annotated inscription. The figure is presented in a state of movement, in a position of stepping forward, but this movement seems to be forcibly stopped (interrupted), as evidenced by an imperceptible at first glance, but quite expressive detail - holding the hem of the coat with his right hand, which can be perceived somewhat as a sign of resistance and self-defense . The image of the collection "Kobzar" finds its interesting continuation: at the foot of a rectangular plinth on a two-step stylobate - a rectangle of a book with the well-known lines in textbooks: "And me in the great family, in the free new family, don't forget to remember me with a gentle, quiet word." The monument has no natural surroundings, but this only helps the direct perception of all its forms.
