Kapelhorodskyi Pylyp Yosypovych [14(27) 1882, p. Horodyshche Lebedynsky district of Kharkiv province (now Nedryhailiv district, Sumy region) - 05.05.1938] - Ukrainian writer, publicist, educator. Bronze bust on a granite pedestal. A properly shaped face with deep symmetrical wrinkles has an expression of severity. A tired and calm look indicates thoughtfulness and a wise attitude to life. The bust, standing on a rectangular pedestal with a three-stage stereobat, seems to grow organically from it. This creates an impression of compositional integrity and clarity. On the facade there is an inscription placed in a complex figured frame with three triangular scars above. Graphically symmetrical font composition strengthens the artistic solution of the monument and gives it some solemnity. Despite the not entirely successful site, surrounded by concrete slabs, the monument, thanks to the artistic means of expression, constitutes a significant cultural value.
