The memorial complex in the village of Bilyaki is an important element of memorial culture, which was established in the village to honor and pay tribute to local heroes who gave their lives defending their country during the Great Patriotic War. The historical monument is listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine under the category of local significance (protection No. 2897-Pl). Order of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine of 25.02.2020 No. 1062. During the Great Patriotic War, an underground group led by P. Kovtun was left to fight the German occupiers. It consisted of activists from the village. The group hid weapons, explosives, clothing, and food.
Heroism and courage were shown on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War by Lieutenant Colonel M. P. Kravchenko, a native of Bilyaki, who commanded the 83rd Brigade.
