219 Soviet soldiers and 3 partisans who died in defensive battles in October 1941, who died during the battles for the liberation of the city on March 4 and 14, 1943, and who died in the battle for the liberation of the city from the Nazi invaders on September 5, 1943, as well as soldiers who died of wounds, partisans who died in the battles of 1941 - 43, civilians tortured by fascists during the occupation. In 1952, the remains of the dead from different places were transferred to a mass grave, on which an obelisk was installed in the same year. In 1972, soldiers and partisans were buried and a memorial was built. A memorial plaque with an inscription is inserted on the grave. 21 marble tablets with the names of 80 fallen soldiers and partisans are attached to the tombstones. Near graves on pedestals sculptural groups are installed (on the left - two partisans, on the right - two soldiers). There are two memorial pylons behind the grave. An alley leads to the grave, on both sides of which there are 36 marble slabs with the names of 718 compatriot soldiers who died on the fronts of the Second World War.
